The UKCRC-registered Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU) at the University of Plymouth provides multi-disciplinary academic support to researchers and clinicians for the design and conduct of high quality clinical trials and other research studies.

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Trial Manager to join the PenCTU for one year maternity cover to start in January 2020. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of trial managers, data managers, programmers, statisticians, other methodologists and clinicians to ensure the successful development and delivery of an expanding portfolio of clinical studies.

You must have experience of working in health services research in an NHS or academic environment and must be conversant with current research governance requirements for clinical trials. Recent involvement in the management of clinical trials is desirable.

You should possess a degree in a relevant discipline or possess a comparable qualification in a clinical or related discipline, and must be experienced in the advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. In addition, you will be able to write fluently, have excellent oral communication skills, be highly organised, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and be able to prioritise your workload within a busy schedule.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave.

The position will be based at the Plymouth Science Park, Derriford, Plymouth.  Mobility to travel to other sites is essential as the PenCTU supports studies across the South West Peninsula and beyond.
