    We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced (Senior) Database/Web Applications Developer with skills in system administration to join our team of highly motivated Database development and Data Management staff in supporting a growing portfolio of clinical trials in important priority areas for the NHS.

    The post is being offered at both Grade 4 and Grade 5 (senior) depending on experience and seniority.  Job descriptions for both grades are attached.

    The focus of the role will be to lead in the design, development, maintenance and support of new and existing database applications for clinical research, using the latest Web-development technologies (including Java, PHP and Python-based technologies with MySQL, Postgres and Oracle). It will also involve some system administration and maintenance activities for some of the dedicated Web servers and applications supporting clinical research, working in liaison with our central IT teams.

    The post is a full time, fixed term appointment for 36 months, starting as soon as possible.  Starting salary will be in the range £33,615 to £39,482 per annum for the Grade 4 post and £37,411 – £44,015 per annum for the more senior Grade 5 post – both inclusive of London Allowance.  Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
