    Hi,

A colleague reported to us that recently it had come to light that a member of an oversight committee he sits on had a criminal record and was subsequently asked to leave the committee.

My colleague suggested we should look into some form of ‘vetting’ of potential lay members prior to them being formally invited to join any committee.

My query therefore is: Is this something CTUs do as standard? If so, what sort of procedures do you undertake?

    Any information would be appreciated.

    Thanks
