Thematic Groups

The Network’s has established a number of thematic working groups to support the strategic aims outlined in its 2025 – 2030 strategy.

These aims are to:

  • Work collectively to improve quality and efficiency of trials
  • Work collectively to improve diversity in trials
  • Develop and nurture the ctu leaders of the future

Artificial Intelligence

The AI Group is focused on developing and sharing best practice in utilising (or not) AI in trial conduct in order to refine trial design and delivery to maximise impact, minimise waste, and accelerate access to life-changing interventions.

Ensuring diversity in trial design, delivery, and participation is essential for equitable and generalisable research. The Research Inclusion Group is focussed on understanding current practice in equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) across the Network and promoting further inclusivity and equity in trial design, delivery, participation and staffing.

Sustainability

Sustainability is critical to maintaining high-quality, impactful research and the Network is committed to supporting CTUs in navigating through the ever-evolving research landscape. The Sustainability Group will focus on providing support to CTUs strengthen business models in order to ensure long-term viability and resilience (including staff recruitment and retention) and environmental sustainability.
