Group Remit
The Group aims to create opportunities for open dialogue and knowledge sharing between statisticians across the Network in order to reach consensus on the most effective methods and solutions to common statistical challenges, support the use of appropriate novel methods in trial design, and promote career options for statisticians in CTUs.
As part of our activities we:
- Hold an annual meeting for CTU representatives with invited speakers, roundtables, and networking opportunities.
- Host webinars to promote some of the exciting and novel work taking place across the Network, as well as share helpful information about funding opportunities.
- Provide an email forum though which CTU statistics representatives can access peer support.
- Attend the annual PSI Careers Event to promote the career opportunities in academic clinical research.
- Collaborate with groups working in similar areas such as the MRC-NIHR Trials Methodology Research Partnership (TMRP).
Ongoing Work
We have a number of currently active workstreams. Current areas of focus include:
- An online resource of sharable training and development materials for early- and mid-career statisticians
- Materials for careers fairs to demonstrate some of the fantastic career opportunities available in non-commercial research.
Outputs
The Group’s reports, publications, and training materials can be found here.
Registered CTU staff members can also access an extensive library of recordings and materials from past meetings and webinars through the Secretariat.
