The Robertson Centre for Biostatistics is part of the Institute of Health and Wellbeing, within the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences (MVLS). It is internationally recognised as a centre of excellence for the design, conduct and analysis of major international multi-centre clinical trials, epidemiological studies and other research projects in conjunction with medical and biological researchers in the pharmaceutical industry, the National Health Service and other research partners. The Centre’s primary objective is to contribute to research projects that will improve the treatment of patients and the practice of medicine.
The Robertson Centre is part of Glasgow Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), which was one of the first UK Clinical Research Collaboration registered CTUs. It currently employs 70 people with expertise in biostatistics, data management, software development, health informatics, and project management; a well-established staff group, many of whom have been in post for more than 10 years.
As a Biostatistician within the Centre, you will work under the guidance of senior staff, carrying out statistical programming, analyses, reporting, validation, teaching [if applicable], and consultancy.
