Group Remit
The role of the Chief Investigator Network Group is to use members’ collective expertise, gathered across a diverse range of specialities and professional backgrounds, to develop and share best practice in order to build stronger relationships and collaborations between CTUs and the Chief Investigator community in the conduct of clinical trials.
As part of our activities we:
- Identify current and upcoming challenges in relation to CI involvement in the conduct of clinical trials, the issues that may drive or contribute to them, and approaches needed to address them.
- Review the clinical trials environment (both nationally and internationally), identifying approaches within other UK organisations and international networks that could support change in the UKCRC Registered CTU Network.
- Work with colleagues across the Network including the Executive Group and Network Director.
Ongoing Work
Our current focus is to create resources to support the collaboration between CTUs & CIs and promote the development of the CIs of the future.
These materials will include:
- Educational resources
- Training
- Coaching and peer support
- Expected cultures and behaviours
