Dear all,
We would like to explore ways of increasing the number of PhD students in medical statistics that are linked to our CTU i.e. supervised by at least one statistician based within the Unit. I would be interested to hear what other CTUs do to attract research students in medical statistics. Aside from MRC studentships, NIHR doctoral fellowships and self-funded part-time research degrees, what other options are there? A difficulty we have identified with the self-funding route is that trial statisticians usually work on a number of trials simultaneously and these may not be sufficiently interrelated to feed into a PhD project.
With thanks & kind regards,
