Applications are invited from experienced Senior Statisticians for this maternity cover position within Bangor University’s Clinical Trials Unit, (NWORTH). This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Statistician to join an innovative and successful Trials Unit with particular expertise in the delivery of clinical trials of complex interventions.The successful applicant will possess significant previous experience working as a medical statistician at a senior level. They will have extensive knowledge and skills in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials. They will demonstrate substantial experience in contributing to successful applications for research grants and of building research collaborations.
Leading a team of Trial Statisticians, the post-holder will be responsible for the direction, development and management of the NWORTH Statistics Team and will have full responsibility for all statistical and methodological outputs.
The post-holder will be expected to continue the development of the Unit’s research portfolio during this period of maternity cover and will contribute to the Unit’s profile both in terms of developing research collaborations, methodological research, and its significant success in capturing research funding.
The person appointed will have a PhD in medical or applied statistics or an allied subject and have recognised experience, training and expertise in clinical trials research.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible and the post is available until 28 February, 2021. The post is full-time, but candidates interested in substantive part-time working are encouraged to apply.
