Central monitoring of consent

In the interests of reducing time, cost and carbon footprint involved in site monitoring, we are increasingly asking (with patent consent) for copies of completed consent forms to be transferred to our CTU.  Do others also do this, and if so, how do you have them securely transmitted, to ensure that they don’t get lost and that patient confidentiality is not compromised.
