Background
In 2024, the Network ran a pilot of three ‘How to be a Good Chief Investigator’ workshops in collaboration with Leeds CTRU, Nottingham CTU, and the Centre for Trials Research in Cardiff. Over 100 delegates participated across the three sessions.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and further workshops were therefore scheduled across 2025 and 2026 under the new name ‘How to be a Great Chief Investigator for Clinical Trials.’ Plans are now underway for sessions in 2027 and 2028.
Registration is now underway for the next workshop, taking place in Birmingham on 28 September 2026. Find out more here.

These workshops are designed for both current and aspiring Chief Investigators of clinical trials, with a clear goal: to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in your research career.
